the United Nations. The Brothers of Charity use that status to enter into a dialogue with the global community on subjects like the material, spiritual, and psychological needs of the underprivileged. In their communication with the UN structures, the Brothers of Charity demand attention for the care of rejects, outcasts, and other people who are underappreciated: refugees, street children, people with a severe mental handicap, handicapped people in general, semi- and unskilled workers, etc…
In 2000 a think tank was established to which brothers, staff members, and external advisers contribute ideas. The objective is to determine the priorities as to the analogies between mission of the Brothers of Charity, and that of the United Nations.
